1) The USA is currently the world's most powerful empire, both financially and militarily.

2) The USA provides large amounts of aid to Israel which allows it to maintain military superiority (or a Qualitative Military Edge as you call it) in the region that it otherwise would not have to such a large extent.

3) There are examples in history of the Jews fighting a much more powerful empire in the past. As in any asymmetric warfare, they too resorted to guerilla tactics.
