Thanks! Yes, I too find it increasingly difficult to have much to be proud of about the US. When I was younger, I used to be extremely patriotic but as I learned more about the true history of the country (not the folklore taught in schools), a lot of it was disturbing. I can't help but to wonder if the US has in fact been a net negative to humanity, especially considering all of the terrible regimes and military interventions it has backed, mostly for profits. Of course, we're told all this was about 'freedom' and 'spreading democracy' or 'fighting communism'. But really it was about expanding the empire, greed and money.

People get upset about using the term 'genocide' but I think it's 'ethnic cleansing' at the very least. Like the US, Israel says one thing and does another. They're saying this is about "protecting their right to exist", but increasingly it appears to actually be about wiping out the entire existing population of Gaza and/or forcing them into the Sinai Desert by making Gaza completely inhospitable with no access to basic essentials. The Israeli government even published a report studying the viability of doing this, so it's definitely something they've thought about.

Hamas is not the reason. It's the excuse.

I completely agree: Biden is an embarrassment, especially the spineless way he's handled this conflict in Israel. He could cut military aid and weapons shipments to Israel tomorrow with the stroke of a pen to force Netenyahu to stop the siege on Gaza... but he won't.
